Why is this statement necessary? What is its purpose?
The purpose of this statement is to convey to corporate leaders that ongoing efforts to restrict access to abortion and other forms of reproductive health care negatively impact employee health and wellbeing, with long-term repercussions to communities, businesses, and the economy as a whole. Investors have responded positively to this message in numerous shareholder proposals filed in recent proxy seasons. This statement provides another venue to express concern to the corporate community as a whole.

For example:
