Since 2019, Rhia has worked closely with institutional investors to advance stronger corporate policies with respect to reproductive and maternal health care.

Why is this statement necessary? What is its purpose?

The purpose of this statement is to convey to corporate leaders that ongoing efforts to restrict access to abortion and other forms of reproductive health care negatively impact employee health and wellbeing, with long-term repercussions to communities, businesses, and the economy as a whole. Investors have responded positively to this message in numerous shareholder proposals filed in recent proxy seasons. This statement provides another venue to express concern to the corporate community as a whole.

The statement can be referenced in communications to policymakers, companies, the media, and others.

For example: “Many investors have signed on to a statement expressing raised expectations for corporate policies and practices regarding reproductive and maternal health care in the post-Roe era.”
